Once a rich lady complained to his psychiatrist, “I feel like my whole life is empty and it has no meaning.”
Listening to this her psychiatrist called over an old lady in his office. He then introduced that old lady to rich lady.
Psychiatrist said, “She is Mary, lady who cleaned office floors. I am going to ask her to tell you how she found happiness. All you have to do is listen to her carefully.
Then psychiatrist requested old lady to sit there and share her story with rich lady.
Old lady sat on chair and started to tell her story, “Three months ago, my husband died of malaria and three months later my only son was killed in a car accident.
I had nothing to live and had nothing left with me. I was not bale to sleep or even eat anything after this. I stopped smiling and even thought to take my own life.
Then one day i found a kitten following me from work to home. When i saw that kitten i felt sorry for her. It was cold outside so i decided to let her in and gave her some milk to drink.
Kitten licked the plate clean and the purred and came to me and rubbed against my legs. Seeing kitten happy i smiled for first time. Then i thought, if helping a small kitten could make me smile then maybe doing something for others make me happy.
From that day only, I try to do something nice for someone. Helping others and seeing them happy, made me so happy.
Today, I don’t know of anybody who sleeps and eats better than I do. I’ve found happiness, by giving it to others.”
Listening to this made rich lady cry and she understood that why she was feeling so empty and unhappy even having everything that money can buy.
Moral:
Helping others brings only Happiness. To live a Happy and Fulfill Life we should try to do something for others and make them smile.
